Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone's Memorial Day Weekend was awesome and safe! Mine was very busy with graduation stuff, painting the house and packing boxes! I got alot done!
I wanted to share the graduation mugs that I made for my son and his best friend...
I bought the mugs at my local dollar store for (you guessed it!) only $1! Cut the names out of yellow vinyl using the DON JUAN cricut cartridge and viola!... personalized graduation mugs! This project is rated E/I for 'easy' and 'inexpensive'!
This week will be all about graduation because my son graduates from high school on Saturday! Hope you enjoy!

HAPPY GRADUATION: Graduation Photo Button
Hello Everyone!
Well, its been a quiet week here on my blog, but definitely not quiet in my studio! I've been super busy preparing for my son's graduation party this weekend! We've got family coming in this weekend and next week for the BIG EVENT on June 4th! Yep... my youngest graduates high school.
We are co-hosting his graduation party with his best friend and their family. We all go to the same church and the boys have all the same friends, so it was logical and cost-effective to join their parties together. Not to mention all the fun we have had planning and making decorations for the party together. One of the things we made was this fun graduation photo button...
I even have a video showing you how to make this fun photo button!
I used our school colors... navy blue, yellow gold and white
I also cut the photos on my cricut. You can find the circles on many cartridges, but a little tip: turn on your REAL DIAL SIZE because the circle might be a layer for something else and the size won't be correct! Then you just use your centerpoint feature on the cricut expression or even easier, use your gypsy.
I had a little crafting party around my dining room table and we made several of these buttons. These are of my son and his best friend.
This was so much fun and I just love how it turned out!
I'll be back tomorrow with the matching CONGRATULATIONS banner that we made to display at the graduation party! And for those of you who aren't sure how to make the 'rosettes', I'll include the video on them tomorrow too! See you then!

WRAP IT UP Cricut Cartridge: "Graduate, You're a Firework!"
Hello Everyone!
Now that blogger is working again, I can share these invitations that we made for our church's Senior Banquet. Our theme this year is "Graduate, You're a Firework!", so I used the frame feature from STAND & SALUTE Cricut Cartridge for our firecracker, it was cut at 5.25" for our 8.5"x5.5" card.

My next layer is the graduate wordart from the WRAP IT UP Cricut Cartridge. It was cut at 2.5" in black coredinations cardstock.

Any smaller and that 'G' would not have made it. This size seemed perfect.

Ta da! Printed "You're a Firework" on my computer and matted it in gold, because those are the school colors. Now for a little glitter glue...

Invitation information was also printed on my computer and placed inside. I kept this invitation single layered because we had to make many of them and while I love the look of lots of layers, it is not always practical or necessary.

I hope everyone's weekend is a GREAT one! We are headed off to Scarborough Faire with family & friends today! It will definitely be a "16GB" SD card day for my camera! LOL! And that means some major scrapbooking in my future!

Graduaton Parties
Hello Everyone!!
I've got some ideas for those of you decorating for graduation parties. Today's idea is a "Shoot for the Moon" theme. It was inspired by these gift bags that say... "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the Stars"
I've got some ideas for those of you decorating for graduation parties. Today's idea is a "Shoot for the Moon" theme. It was inspired by these gift bags that say... "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the Stars"
I used my cricut expression to cut various sizes of stars from the GEORGE & BASIC SHAPES cricut cartridge... but this time I used my Cricut Design Studio. I could have used the FIT TO PAGE feature for my big stars and the AUTO FILL for my smaller stars, but I needed so many (20 lrg stars and 200 small stars) that I didn't want to waste any paper. With the help of CDS I could cut one big (11.5") star and then fitted various sized stars around the big star so I minimized my paper scraps. So... here is my cut file for the stars:
My adorable Sscrubby (means Supportive Scrapbooking Hubby) even helped peel stars off the cricut mats... it was alot of stars.
Then I did the same thing with blue moons from the NEW ARRIVAL cricut cartridge. I attached my moons and medium size stars to pipe cleaners (I wanted the stars & moon to dance/bounce) which I then attached to shish-ka-bob skewers (I twisted the pipe cleaners around the skewers and did not have to use any adhesive). I bought pots of real monkey grass at my local Home Depot and dropped them into the blue bags... stuck four stars and one moon in each plant and viola!... centerpieces.
I scattered the remaining small stars and moons on the tables around the centerpieces.
"What did I do with the large stars and moons?", you ask? Well... I strung them up with matching ribbon and had the youth group kids who were there helping us, hang them all from the ceiling over the tables.
I cut 10 moons and 20 stars for them to hang and it was just the right amount for a festive atmosphere.
The finished result...
This was an inexpensive way to decorate and would work great for a graduation party too.

Need help for Mother's Day?
I love it when a company has a 'wish list' that you can share with loved ones! I'm always the 'deer in the headlights' when my sscrubby asks me what I want for my birthday or Mother's Day... there are tons of things that I would LOVE to have, but I never can seem to think of them when asked. I usually end up meekly saying, "Oh, just having everyone around the dinner table is fine by me"... which is true, but darn it... a new scrapbooking tool or embellishment would be nice too!! LOL!
I just stumbled onto this EMAIL A HINT page over on www.cricut.com! It's not too late, so if you haven't shared your cricut wish list with your loved ones... then NOW is the time! Just click on the link or the photo below. Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day this weekend!
Oh! And there is a contest going on that started this week, but goes until May 20th! Provo Craft is looking for the 'CRAFTIEST MOM' and will give that person one of their brand new 5th Anniversary Cricut Expression 2s!! It's easy to enter... click on CRAFTIEST MOM for the details! Good luck everyone!

BEST OF 2009: 'Sole Mate' Bestie Card
Hello Everyone!!
Well, tonight is the night! I will be drawing my two winners for the BEST OF 2006 and BEST OF 2008 cricut cartridges! Get your comments in today... you have until midnight CST (that's Texas time for those who don't know... wink wink).
Today I am featuring the BEST OF 2009 CRICUT CARTRIDGE:
There were so many fun images that year! The cartridges that make up the BEST OF 20098 are:
I've been doing alot of scrapbooking lately (I'm so behind!), but I thought I would keep it simple today with a cute cheery card using the fashionable high heeled shoes (image 50) that is originally from the PAISLEY Cricut Cartridge. Besides... I have a pile of scraps from the scrapbook layouts that I've been doing recently and before I sort and store those scraps, I like to try to make simple cards from them. So, other than the card base and the orange piece, this card was made totally from scraps.
The striped cardstock are scrap pieces from my CROC'S RULE layout, 'Fishy Food' that I did last week for HELLO THURSDAY (you can see it HERE). It's from Fancy Pants and actually inspired all of my color choices for this card. I had just enough of it left to make two cards. It may look like that striped cardstock is one big piece with everything layered on top, but it's not... it is actually two pieces that are 5" x 1.5".
I cut the shoes at 2.5" and used all scraps for it too. There are actually 7 pieces that make this adorable shoe. My sentiment is, of course, from the My Pink Stamper's PINKA-LICIOUS stamp set.
Well, there you go! I love all the images on this cartridge and have to say that I'm happy I was not the one who had to pick what was going to make it and what wasn't! Take care and don't forget to leave a comment so you can be eligible to win because the drawing is tonight... SUNDAY!

I love using yellow (scraps from my TIME TO FLY wall art) on cards... makes it so bright and cheery. Tell me you don't just smile when you look at this card. I also like large cards, so my card size is 8.25" x 5.5", which is one standard 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock folded in half. Tools needed for this card are simple... my cricut and I used a new Fiskars punch that I have for the large orange scallop with holes.
