BEST OF 2008: 'Football Practice' LO

Hello Everyone!

Let's continue this little walk down memory lane... we are now looking at the 'BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge' (lol... sounds like one of those late night infomercials!).

This cartridge incorporates more cartridges than seen in the previous two, they are:

HOME ACCENTS
CAMP OUT
WEDDING
INDIE ART
BASEBALL
SOCCER
STORYBOOK
WILD CARD
CHRISTMAS
SPORTS MANIA

I chose two of the images that were originally from SPORTS MANIA to embellish my 'Football Practice' layout.

The football player has four layers that were cut at 6"

The wordart PRACTICE has three layers that were cut at 2.5" and I embellished the water bottle with my nephew's team name.

I love this pictue of him because it shows how much he has grown!  He is becoming a young man right before my eyes!  I used my white signo pen to add my date at the top, his jersey number to the helmet and some journaling to the curve of the black circle.

A few action shots on this page... a little more journaling and we are done.  The photos really speak for themselves.

I really like how this page turned out.  There are so many awesome patterned papers available today and I really like the ones that have several coordinating sheets like this one does.  This layout shows how to incorporate those coordinating patterns and still get your cricut cuts in there without making the whole thing look too busy.  It also shows you that a little bit of pattern paper can go a long way.

The recipe for this layout:

- BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge
- 2 pieces of brown 12x12 cardstock
- 2 pieces of 12x12 football paper
- 1 piece of black 12x12 cardstock
- 1 piece of blue 12x12 cardstock
- 1 piece of white 12x6 cardstock
- 1 piece of green 8.5x11 cardstock
- 3 brown brads
- White Signo pen

Total cost of supplies for this layout = $5.50 (not counting my cricut cartridge)

Don't forget that I am giving away TWO of the BEST OF cartridges this weekend!  That's right!  They are:

BEST OF 2006 Cricut Cartridge
BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge

Just leave a comment on any and all 'Best of' posts and you are eligible to win!

Here are some of the projects that I have done with images that are on this cartridge... click on the title to see more pictures and info on each project.  Don't laugh either... most of these were done when I had just started blogging back in 2009!  LOL!

FLORAL HEART

I really really like this skull & crossbones that was originally from INDIE ART.  I was so happy to see that it is now on the BEST OF 2008 cartridge.

Have a GREAT Friday!!  I'll see you back tomorrow with the BEST OF 2009!

Creatively yours,

Tammy

BEST OF 2007: "Our Ship" Layout

Hello There!

Before I present today's project, I want to send my prayers & best wishes to all of my followers who were affected by the terrible storms & tornados yesterday.  That storm went through the Dallas area and just left a path of destruction across the mid-south.  One of my most favorite family vacations was spent in Tuscaloosa about three years ago, so seeing that they got hit really hard by tornados really made me sad.  It really puts things into perspective, that while I was grumbling about losing power and internet service several times over the past week... my family and I are very blessed that the storms didn't hit us harder.  We did sustain roof & fence damage, but the repair guys will be here on Friday to fix that and at least we still have a roof to fix!  We've got a little break from the rain until Saturday and are grateful that the recent rains have also helped get the wildfires under control.  Now onto a much lighter subject.... crafting!

Today's project was made using the new BEST OF 2007 Cricut Cartridge!

There are fifty images and their layers on this cartridge that come from the following original cartridges:

GOING PLACES
FABULOUS FINDS
MY WORLD
MY COMMUNITY
JOYS OF THE SEASON
LOCKER TALK
DOODLECHARMS

I chose an image that was from GOING PLACES and one from FABULOUS FINDS for my scrapbook layout.

The tag is originally from FABULOUS FINDS, it comes in two pieces and was cut out at 2.5"

What a perfect suitcase!  Originally from GOING PLACES, I added the 2011 from DON JUAN to it.  All of my fonts are from DON JUAN.

This is the Holland America Eurodam that we were on for the Cricut Cruise just a couple of months ago.  This trip was beyond awesome!!  I had the pleasure of being one of the guest instructors on this trip and took my BFF along with me.  We took so many pictures that I don't think it will all fit in one scrapbook!  LOL!

My cardstock for this project was from MY MIND'S EYE and the yellow gold is from Core'dinations.  Other than my two buttons with curled wire, my only embellishments are my cricut cuts.  Easy Peasy!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Creatively yours,

Tammy

BEST OF 2006: "Be Happy" Gift Bag

Hello Everyone!!

I will be featuring the 'BEST OF' cartridges that were released last week on Hello Thursday!  It's not often that we can actually give away the new cartridges the same week that we preview them... but I actually have TWO of them to giveaway this week!!  Yep!  i'm giving away the...

 BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge

BEST OF 2006 Cricut Cartridge

Winners will be announced at midnight on Sunday night!  No hoops to jump through in order to win... it's simple... just be a follower or subscriber of my blog and leave a comment on any or all posts between now and Sunday night!!  Easy peasy!

How about a cute little project from the BEST OF 2006 cartridge?  There was a great little gift bag that came out on the TAGS, BAGS, BOXES & MORE back in 2006 and is one of the best images of that year.

I cut a yellow flower at 4" for behind my rosette and a yellow scalloped circle at 3.5" for the front of my rosette.  My rosette was made with two 12"x1.25" strips of black cardstock.  Yes, I am a little rosette crazy right now, so you will probably see a bunch of them from me in the next couple of weeks!  LOL!  I topped it off with the cute 'be happy' that was also cut from this cartridge at 1".

My cute little bee makes the fifth image from BEST OF 2006 that I used to make this project.  He was cut at 2.5" and was attached to a curly pipe cleaner so he can fly above the gift bag.

We are getting bombarded by spring storms here in Texas... 8 tornadoes in the Dallas area yesterday alone!  But thankfully it looks like we have a reprieve until Saturday.  Hope all is well in your part of the world!

Tammy

4TH T-SHIRT WINNER
Kim said...

What great information, I love how close you can get your cuts now with autofill, I just used that yesterday on a regular expression and I was so disappointed with the obvious waste of paper. I assume that means you can get a few more cut since it can "squish" them?
Love your website, you always show such wonderful items.

CRICUT EXPRESSION 2 Watching Party tonight!!

Hello Everyone!

You are invited to join us tonight!!  My party starts at 9pm EST and my 'live' guests will be arriving at 8pm.  But, everyone here in cyberworld are welcome to join us too!  I have some projects to share with you throughout the day and each one will have a giveaway!  Don't forget that I have been given the honor to be able to give away a CRICUT EXPRESSION 2 tonight too!!

First project I want to share with you is the cute invitation that I made using my Expression2 and the CRICUT DECALS Cartridge that comes preloaded on it!

The expression2 will AUTO FILL a matt with images and positions them close to each other so as not to waste paper.

You can space the images out if you are using different colors of cardstock simply by using the space key on the expression2.

I could have used the AUTO FILL feature for "You're Invited", but I didn't need that many, so I just used the copy/paste button to add them to my mat.

This arrow is from CRICUT ESSENTIALS Digital cartridge that come preloaded on the Expression2.  I needed it to point in the other direction so thankfully, like the original expression, this one has a FLIP feature, too.

Of course, I used one of Robyn's stamps for "Girl Time!"

I have a video for you that shows the inside of the card and how I used the Expression 2 for it!!

Like I said in the video, I could have used the CENTERPOINT feature but, I chose to use the template technique instead because I had so many to cut and you can only cut one at a time with the CENTERPOINT feature.

Creatively yours,

Tammy
