Let's continue this little walk down memory lane... we are now looking at the 'BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge' (lol... sounds like one of those late night infomercials!).
This cartridge incorporates more cartridges than seen in the previous two, they are:
HOME ACCENTS
CAMP OUT
WEDDING
INDIE ART
BASEBALL
SOCCER
STORYBOOK
WILD CARD
CHRISTMAS
SPORTS MANIA
I chose two of the images that were originally from SPORTS MANIA to embellish my 'Football Practice' layout.
The football player has four layers that were cut at 6"
The wordart PRACTICE has three layers that were cut at 2.5" and I embellished the water bottle with my nephew's team name.
I love this pictue of him because it shows how much he has grown! He is becoming a young man right before my eyes! I used my white signo pen to add my date at the top, his jersey number to the helmet and some journaling to the curve of the black circle.
A few action shots on this page... a little more journaling and we are done. The photos really speak for themselves.
I really like how this page turned out. There are so many awesome patterned papers available today and I really like the ones that have several coordinating sheets like this one does. This layout shows how to incorporate those coordinating patterns and still get your cricut cuts in there without making the whole thing look too busy. It also shows you that a little bit of pattern paper can go a long way.
The recipe for this layout:
- BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge
- 2 pieces of brown 12x12 cardstock
- 2 pieces of 12x12 football paper
- 1 piece of black 12x12 cardstock
- 1 piece of blue 12x12 cardstock
- 1 piece of white 12x6 cardstock
- 1 piece of green 8.5x11 cardstock
- 3 brown brads
- White Signo pen
Total cost of supplies for this layout = $5.50 (not counting my cricut cartridge)
Don't forget that I am giving away TWO of the BEST OF cartridges this weekend! That's right! They are:
BEST OF 2006 Cricut Cartridge
BEST OF 2008 Cricut Cartridge
Just leave a comment on any and all 'Best of' posts and you are eligible to win!
Here are some of the projects that I have done with images that are on this cartridge... click on the title to see more pictures and info on each project. Don't laugh either... most of these were done when I had just started blogging back in 2009! LOL!
FLORAL HEART
I really really like this skull & crossbones that was originally from INDIE ART. I was so happy to see that it is now on the BEST OF 2008 cartridge.
