I've never seen the Cricut magazine so I'd love to win a copy. I'm always in need of inspiration. Designs don't come easily to me. I guess my brain doesn't work that way. LOL. Thanks for the giveaway chance!

Love your ideas! I like that you showed us how to take inspiration from the magazine. I may need to get this cartridge! Thank you for helping to inspire us, we love it! Some of us need it more than others...I have been home all week with two of my sons and their chicken pox. Hoping son number 3 does not get it!

Creative Memories STORK'S DELIVERY: It's A Boy! Card

Hello Everyone!

I've been traveling alot lately and one thing I love to do when I travel is read my crafty magazines!  I've really enjoyed reading the new CRICUT MAGAZINE published by Northridge Publishing... cover to cover!  It's 130 pages of crafty goodness all focused on my favorite toy, the cricut!  Like any magazine, there are advertisements... but very few of them.  The projects range from cards to layouts to cakes!!  Tons and tons of inspiration!

I love designing my own projects, but sometimes I just need a little inspiration dose!  This magazine has plenty of that!  Here's a baby card that was made by Martha Pineda and I think the layout can be used for just about anything.

Some different colors and I used 'dingleberries' instead of lace and viola!  I have a really cute baby card without killing any brain cells!!

I used the new STORK'S DELIVERY Cricut Cartridge that is exclusive to Creative Memories for the cute little onesie.  It was cut out at 4".

Leave a comment and tell me what you think of the new CRICUT MAGAZINE.  If you haven't seen it yet, leave a comment anyway, because I am giving away FOUR copies of the magazine this weekend!  For those of you who want to subscribe... you can do so at http://www.northridgepublishing.com/ or by calling 888-225-9199.

I also have a really cool Cricut Birthday Bag to giveaway that contains a cute Cricut plushy and BIRTHDAY BASH Cricut Cartridge!  Winners will be announced on Monday!

Creative Memories' STORK'S DELIVERY: Baby Album Title Page

Hello Everyone!

Yippee!  I'm back home in my studio and have just been enjoying this beautiful Friday in Texas!  I'm so excited to preview the new STORK'S DELIVERY Cricut Cartridge made exclusively for Creative Memories!   I learned how to scrapbook from Creative Memories over 13 years ago and will forever be grateful to my very first CM consultant and now dear friend, Lynn Payant.  I think that Provo Craft has done an excellent job in portraying CM style in this cartridge.  It has all the elements that is taught by their consultants:

- GREAT SIMPLE IMAGES
- UNIQUE JOURNAL BOXES
- THEME SPECIFIC TITLES
- AWESOME FONTS (2 of them!)
- FUN MONOGRAMS

This cartridge has everything you would need to make the most adorable baby album.  I also love the fonts and monograms for home decor... hmmm... thinking of vinyl wall art anyone?  Well, my CM consultant always taught me to start my albums with a meaningful title page... so here is the title page for my 19yo son's baby album:

Yes... I've waited this long to do his album and I think it's perfect timing because he graduates from high school this year.  He will just love this.

The cuts on STORK'S DELIVERY layer so nice, I want to show how easy each one is:

Title was cut at 5.5" (yes all you original cricut owners can make this too!)

The diaper pin was cut at 4"

The baby bottle was cut at 3"

What?  You've already finished your baby album or don't need to make one?  Well... do you have any baby showers coming up?

The same cuts I used for my title page can be used to dress up a plain white gift box!  If you use repositionable adhesive, the new mommy can easily remove them and use them in her baby book or photo album.

I just love how they layer!  1... 2... 3... 4 and your done!

I used four pieces of cardstock to make all these cuts... a total cost of less than $3.00!

Well, there's more for tomorrow!  I've been previewing the new Cricut Magazine and I have to say that I am very impressed!  Have you seen it yet?  Well... here's your chance!  I have FOUR copies to give away along with the CRICUT BIRTHDAY BAG that contains a Cricut Plushy and the BIRTHDAY BASH Cricut Cartridge!!  Just leave a comment on any of my posts (or all of them) between Wednesday, Feb 16th and midnight on Sunday, Feb 20th!  Winners will be announced on Monday!  Good Luck!  I'll be back tomorrow with a preview post of the Cricut Magazine and a card that was inspired by it.

Tammy

HELLO THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 2011

HAPPY HELLO THURSDAY!!!

Provo Craft decided to take it easy on everyone this month and is only releasing three cartridges!  It always cracks me up when I read people's complaints about how they hate it when there are too many 'new' cartridges each month because they can't 'keep up'!!  Personally, I LOVE it!  Call me crazy!  LOL!

So this month, we have a new one from CREATIVE MEMORIES!  I'm not surprised that CM chose to add a baby cartridge to their collection.  This will be really exciting for alot of people.

There are your standard 'baby images' and some phrases... but wait until I show you the font on this cartridge!  If you are a 'font collector', then you will definitely want to add this one to your collection!

KATE'S ABC:

Hello Everyone!

Still in California!  I started my day very early this morning working on the Texas Cricut Stampede... we are almost sold out and will be posting all the class information on Monday!  So so excited that I get to teach alongside of both Robyn (My Pink Stamper) and Teresa Collins at the Stampede!  If you want more information about this retreat click HERE.

The rest of the day was spend looking at houses here in Northern California!  What a great day it was!  We just may have found 'the' perfect house!  Got our fingers crossed!  It has the best studio space in it... all on one floor!  I promised my sscrubby that I would never put my studio upstairs ever again! LOL!  He and both my boys have always been such troopers about toting all my stuff up and down the stairs whenever I was off to a retreat or was teaching!

Then the evening was spent cricuting with my mom-in-law again!  This time I want to share a project made with the new KATE'S ABCs:

Photobucket

There are two nice fonts on this cartridge... both of which have shadows.
Photobucket
The images on this cartridge really remind me of the NURSERY TALES for the Imagine.  So many cute cute images!  Notice the bumble bees in the middle of the second row below:

Photobucket

Now look at this new paper pack from K&Company!  It is called SPRING BLOSSOM by Susan Winget and is just gorgeous!  Look at this and then look at the sample sheet for the KATE'S ABCs cartridge above... I think they are perfect for each other!

I decided to take a white photo frame that I bought for $4.99 at Michaels and make personalized wall art as a gift for my niece who will be delivering her first little girl in a couple of months.  They have decided to name her Alice...

My neice can always put a photo of her baby girl in this frame OR she can leave it just like it is and use it as wall art.  I used the K&Company daisy paper to cut the name ALICE out with the font on KATE'S ABCs.  This was cut at 3".
Photobucket

Michaels had these beautiful daisies on sale for .99 in their floral department!  Not a bad price to pay for embellishments, huh!?  I just cut the stems off and glued them on.

Photobucket

Then using the same K&Company papers, I cut the bees out at 4"!

Photobucket

She's the QUEEN BEE!!  I just loved it!  Hope you like my little home decor/crafty gift project!  Next post will be all about HELLO THURSDAY!  Hmmmm... how about a giveaway?

I've got an extra CRICUT BIRTHDAY BAG from CHA to give away!!  It includes a large cricut plushy and a BIRTHDAY BASH Cricut Cartridge!!  Who wants to win it?  Just leave a comment and I will give it away on Monday morning with a random drawing!!!

Creatively yours!

FORMAL OCCASION: Prom Night

Hello Everybody!!

Wow!  I haven't posted in so long that I'm sure that everyone thought that I got lost in Mexico!  So sorry!  But, our cruise was absolutely wonderful!  Sscrubby and I really needed that time together and it was truly awesome!  We got back to Dallas last Thursday and then left for California early on Saturday morning.  Yep... I'm in Redding now doing a little househunting.  So far, we've found a few possibilities... one of which we plan to go see again tomorrow.  Wish us luck!

Today, I spent the afternoon cricuting with my mother-in-law.  We had a great time and I was so pleased to be able to get a few projects done!  Here's one that I can share with you...

My niece and her date for her high school prom.  This layout was made completely with the new FORMAL OCCASIONS Cricut Cartridge.  Love love love this cartridge!  I can't tell you how many photos I have that have just been waiting for this cartridge to be released!!  Whew... so happy I am so far behind and haven't cropped them yet! LOL!  You can look at the handbook for this cartridge HERE and it will show you all the wonderful base images AND all the creative features.  This cartridge offers BASE images, PHRASES and FRAMES!  I used the 'Prom Night' and really love how the PHRASES on this cartridge coordinate with the frames.

The PHRASE had four easy layers and the coordinating frame also had four layers, but I chose to use only two and really like how it turned out.  Just perfect for a journal box.

There are 50 great frames that can be used for journal boxes or to mat photos like I did here.

TOOLS
Cricut Expression
FORMAL OCCASION Cricut Cartridge

SUPPLIES
Bazzill DOTTED SWISS Cardstock
Black Ribbon
Black Pen
Glue dots

RECIPE
Photo Mat/Frame cut at 7.5"
Prom Night Phrase cut at 3.5"
Journal Box Frame cut at 3"

Thanks for visiting! I'll be back in Dallas in my studio just in time for HELLO THURSDAY this week!  Yep!  It's that time again and you are gonna love it!
