CHA FRIDAY: Cricut Circle Crop

The circle crop was soooo much fun!  We got to meet-up with all of our cricut circle sisters and see new product being released!!  I can't spill the beans just yet (not til after 10am this morning!), but you guys are gonna freak out!  Wow... I love how innovative Provo Craft is and is always thinking of 'what's next'!

Robyn and Karlee arrived today, so our 'condo gang' is complete!  We slipped away for lunch and took a few pictures there...

Our second event of the day was the WELCOME RECEPTION... snacks and mingling.

Had to get a photo with Marilyn Monroe!  She was a hoot and is definitely NOT a Dallas Cowboys fan!! LOL!!

Then, Myrel, Angela and I finished the day off with a later dinner on Sunset Blvd!  That area was so cool!

What a long day!!  Myrel needed a little help taking her boots off!

OUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TODAY IS:

TERESA COLLINS IS COMING TO TEACH AT OUR TEXAS CRICUT STAMPEDE!!!!  SOOOOO... EXCITED!!!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE!

Sightseeing in LA

Hello Everyone!

Thursday started out great for Angela, Myrel and I! We had a wonderful drive through the hills of Hollywood and visited the Griffith Observatory.

Well... that is where it all started going wrong...

You see, the observatory was crowded and we decided to tuck our purses under the seats in our locked rental car instead of risking then getting snatched off our arms in the crowd of tourists. But, apparently someone was watching us as we did this and they broke into our car and stole our purses.

We were inside the observatory for only 30 minutes!  Thank goodness, because we were able to call our banks and credit card companies and freeze our accounts almost immediately.  We are grateful that the car did not get stolen and we are grateful that we weren't hurt in any way.  I just hope that the man that did this really enjoys my brand new Vera Bradley purse and accessories!!!  Myrel feels the same way about her Brighton purse!

So today's prize is in honor of our stolen purses... Myrel makes these adorable purses for you gypsy.  She gave me one as a gift and my gypsy and cords 'were' in it.  Now, my gypsy is sitting on my nightstand... because the gypsy bag is now my purse for the rest of this trip.

Isn't it so cute?!

Post a comment on this post and I will draw a winner next week for this adorable gypsy bag!  Of course, it will have your name on it, not mine!  LOL!  For those who really want one of these bags... they are $17.50 +sh and that includes your name on it.  Contact myrelf@aol.com and she will take your order!

Keep an eye on my facebook (Tammy Skinner) tomorrow because I will be uploading video there first thing in the morning!  And check out my roommate's blogs for fun posts about our crazy day together today!

Have a great weekend everyone!

CHA in LA: We have arrived!

Hello from Sunny Los Angeles!!!

My team, Angela, Myrel and I are here!! We flew in yesterday and got all settled in last night! Boy are we excited about CHA!!

We really wanted to come out here and experience LA, so we grouped together with Robyn (MY PINK STAMPER), Karlee (KARLEE'S KRAFTS) and Courtney (COURT'S CRAFTS) and I found us a condo off Sunset Blvd to rent for the week!!  Let me tell you it is awesome!!  Best part... because we are splitting it between the six of us... it is cheaper than staying in a convention hotel in a not so safe part of town!

Watch all of our blogs for TONS of info from CHA this week!  Wait until you see what Provo Craft has in store for this year's show!!  WARNING:  When we all get together, we have a tendency to get a little silly and revert back to our college days (LOL!), so it might get a little crazy this week!  But, we plan to share our entire experience with you... so, for those who wanted to come but can't... these posts are for YOU!  I will also be updating my FACEBOOK, so 'friend' me (Tammy Skinner) for even more details!

Let's get started with some CHA INFORMATION:

This year at CHA Provo Craft nominated four products to the Innovation Product Showcase. Yudu CardShop is currently listed among the top 20 new products and the winners will be announced at the show. All four of our nominated products will be highlighted on CHA TV – Cricut Imagine, Cricut Cake Mini, YourStory Photo and Yudu CardShop. Cosmo Cricket Design Team!

WOW! I made the top ten contenders list for COSMO CRICKET'S DT!! Thanks to everyone who voted for me! Now the voting begins again! Please click on the link (COSMO CRICKET) and cast your vote, the poll is in the right hand column. I'd love it if you would vote for me... however, there are some awesome ladies in the top 10 and I want you to vote for who you think will do the best job. I just love some of the layouts they have posted!!!

Here are two projects that I made with Cosmo Cricket's 'Jolly By Golly' Christmas line:

                                         CHRISTMAS CARD HOLDER
Everything was cut with my cricut.  I layered the Cosmo Cricket cardstock on top of cereal box chipboard.  "Season Greetings" is from the CHRISTMAS Solutions cricut cartridge.

Tada!  The cards are held by clothespins that were attached to the back.

I love to take tons of pictures, so sometimes I have to come up with creative ways to get them all on my scrapbook pages.  lol  Below I attached a mini book that I had made to my scrapbook page.

I love all the embellishments that Cosmo Cricket has to match their lines.  They make crafting so easy.

The pages of the book and the snowflakes were all cut with my cricut.

I loved the colors of this paper line.

Thanks again to everyone who voted for me!!!

FLORALS EMBELLISHED: Motherly Phrases 1-10

Hello Everyone!

This month's cartridges are so awesome... seriously!  I had a hard time deciding which ones to work on first.  But, I narrowed it down to the FLORALS EMBELLISHED Cricut Cartridge.

Why did I choose FLORALS EMBELLISHED?  Well, because I think that this cartridge will be dismissed at first glance by alot of people.  So, my goal is to show you the 'secrets' of this cartridge... the PHRASES!!

Have you noticed that the handbooks are looking a little different these days?  This is a full cartridge with BASE images, LAYER 1 images, LAYER 2 images, SILHOUETTE images, SILHOUETTE BLACKOUT images, PHRASE images and SHADOW images.  My favorite feature of the new handbook design is the little keypad that is right below the flower image... it shows you where on the keypad this particular image is.  Now that is awesome... especially for this cartridge!

Now for the PHRASES...  I'm not sure why Provo Craft named this cartridge "FLORALS EMBELLISHED" because I would have called it "ALL ABOUT MOTHER".  All the phrases are for cards or layouts that you would make about your mother.  Below is just the top row of the keypad, images 1 - 10.

Flower Phrase 1

Flower Phrase 2

Flower Phrase 3

Flower Phrase 4

Flower Phrase 5

Flower Phrase 6

Flower Phrase 7

Flower Phrase 8

Flower Phrase 9

Flower Phrase 10

Now for a one page layout that I made using two of the phrases above.

Below is a sample of the SILHOUETTE feature.  So, don't be afraid of all the layers on the base images because you can cut the same image in only two cuts!

But I have to say... even though this flower (Flower 7 cut at 4.5") has EIGHT layers... it wasn't difficult and I love the finished look.  I definitely would not recommend cutting them at small sizes though.

This "I LOVE YOU MOM" phrase was under the same key as the
flower above... I liked how the flower shapes are the same.

"WITH ALL MY HEART" is Flower Phrase 8 and would
work with several of the phrases.

Well, I will have more for you tomorrow!  Don't forget that I am giving away a PLAYTIME Cricut Cartridge on Monday!  Just make sure you are a follower (I'm almost to 3000!) and leave a comment!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check on Robyn's projects... she is giving away a set of her awesome stamps with each post!

Creatively yours!
