HOOT-N-HOLLER & 3 BIRDS ON PARADE

Hello Everyone!

Still unpacking in the California townhouse!  I have several projects going all at the same time... anyone else do that?  Drives my scrubby crazy, but I just can't help it.  I think it's how my brain works.  Well, anyhow I still need to photograph my home decor/organize project that I did in the kitchen and will share it with you soon!  In the meantime, I wanted to say "HELLO!" to all the scrappy ladies that I met at the 2-day SCRAP 4 FUN retreat this past weekend!  It was awesome to get some time in the midst of my 'moving chaos' to just crop and make new friends!

Dixie, Wanda, Me and Michelle

Lots and lots of space to crop!

This is a non-profit retreat that is held twice a year (Oct & Mar) here in Redding, California.  It was awesome!  I cropped all day on Friday and then went back on Saturday!  Here's one of the projects that I finished....

Made with the
HOOT-N-HOLLER Cricut Lite Cartridge
and the
THREE BIRDS ON PARADE Cricut Cartridge
and my GYPSY!

I really love the HOOT-N-HOLLER cartridge, it's one of the Walmart exclusives.  HERE is a cute card that I made with this cartridge.  Everything has 4 layers.  The eyes on the owls above would have been the 4th layer, but I decided to use wood buttons for texture instead.  There are some really cute phrases and this one is the inspiration for my layout.  However, I didn't like the fonts used on this HOOT-N-HOLLER cartridge, so....

I made my own word art using my gypsy and the fonts from THREE BIRDS ON PARADE, GYPSY FONT and HANNAH MONTANA.  I chose fonts that had shadow features and welded the shadows together to form the word art. The shadow foundation was cut in brown and the top layers were cut in different colors with the word 'OWL' cut in a stripe.  I pop dotted the blue letters to give my word art dimension.  I really like how it turned out.

The patterned papers I used are from MY MIND'S EYE and my solid cardstock is CORE'DINATIONS.

I used DON JUAN for the names on my journaling tag and embellished it with more wood buttons.

I just love the THREE BIRDS ON PARADE's font.  It's so cute with the little feet cuts and perfect for the word "BROTHERS" on my 'owl' page.  HERE's an Easter layout that I used this cartridge on.

Just a fun layout of my boys.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be busy teaching a glass etching class at SHE'S CRAFTY in Redding, California tonight, but I'll share our projects with you tomorrow!  Do you know how to etch glass yet?  It's a great way to make personalized Christmas gifts!

Creatively yours,

Tammy

Love the colors of your layout. I wish they would have some scrap retreats here where I live but I guess we are just a bit too rural. I know they have some scrap times in Memphis but that is an hour or so away from me. Tt looks like you all had such a good time.
