CHIC & SCARY: Sweet 16 Scrapbook Layout

Hello Everyone!!

I have always loved planning parties and have had tons of fun over the years planning my children's (they're not kids anymore) birthday parties!  When my daughter turned 16, we hosted a "Sweet 16 Masquerade Ball".  Complete with caterer, DJ, costumes and yep!... masks!  I sooooo wish we had had a cricut back then (it was in 2005), because we had a 'Mask Making' party about two weeks before the ball and all her friends came over and made the masks they were going to wear.  Teresa Collins' new CHIC & SCARY Cricut Cartridge has two different shaped masks on it that would have been perfect for our project.

Well, it's too late to use the masks for the party, but not too late to use them for the scrapbook of the party! I had so much fun decorating the masks for this layout.

I cut the 'cat-eye' shaped mask at 2.5" using cardstock from Teresa Collins' "POSH" line.  This cardstock was perfect for this!  Doesn't it look like lace?!  Then I used inexpensive gathered lace and my terrifically tacky tape to add the lace to the back of the mask.

I added pink bling to finish embellishing the mask, in true "Teresa Collins" style.

The two 'rounded' shaped masks were cut at 2" and again, the cardstock is from the TC Posh line.

I LOVE the entire line of cartridges that Teresa has designed for Provo Craft!  I've always been an admirer of hers and love her style, so to be able to combine it with the love of my cricut is just 'win win' for me!  It was really hard not to pull out my SOPHISTICATED cartridge for my title box, but I try very hard to use only the feature cartridge on my projects.  That way, you won't get confused as to what cut is from where and it also makes it much easier to re-create if you don't have to worry about owning multiple cartridges.  So, instead I 'hand-cut' (gasp!) this frame from one of the cardstocks in the POSH line.  Added my title and some bling and ta-da!  I'm done!

This was our family photo for 2005... lol.  We had so much fun at that party!  Our family & friends still talk about it!  Ahhhhh.... good times!
