BLACK FRIDAY @ JOANN'S!!

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!!

I'm posting this at almost 2am on Thanksgiving day!  LOL!  Just finished my prep work for our turkey dinner tomorrow and was planning out my strategy for my Black Friday shopping!  My BFFs and sister are going with me this year... they are Black Friday virgins!  LOL!  They all think I am crazy... but I love shopping on Black Friday!  It's like a game! You have to have a strategy... and really study your opponents (the stores)... network with your allies (other shoppers)... and you just might win the prize (the items on your shopping list)!  Play by the 'unwritten rules' (no cutting in line or being pushy) and all will be well... it's when you break a rule that the crowd gets snarly.

So... just wanted to share with you all that...

JOANN'S HAS THE BABY BUG ON SALE FOR ONLY $59.99!!!  I'm so excited because it was already on my Christmas list for a family member!!  Not only that, but take a look at these OTT Lights!!  Hmmm... do the colors remind anyone of some exclusive Cricut Expressions that are on sale at midnight?!

I LOVE these lights!!  And they are regular price $89.99... but are on SALE on JoAnn's website HERE for a special Black Friday doorbuster on THURSDAY!!  The Personal Cricut will be available IN-STORE... but these OTT-Lights are ONLINE only!

OMGoodnesss... the Cricut Cake Mini's will also be on sale for only $99.99 on Friday!  Click HERE if you want to see a video of what you can do with this machine!  I LOVE it!

I will let you know if I find out about any other specials!

Happy Shopping Ya'll!!

SMILEY CARDS: Thank You Notes

Hello Everyone!!

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving today!  My best dishes have been gathered, silverware is shined, linens have been pressed and much of the prep-work is done for our Thanksgiving dinner.  My oldest cut tons of onions and celery yesterday for us and learned how to make sweet southern cornbread for the first time... lol... that is a story by itself!  I will share photos of THAT adventure later! LOL!

Now, I am in my studio making some last minute little thank you notes to place around the table tomorrow.  Have I told you how much I love the SMILEY CARDS cartridge?  So so easy to use...  especially with our SMILEY IMAGE SHEETS.  There is a whole page of pre-made notecards on this cartridge, so I chose the oval one and cut it out at only 2 3/4".

Photobucket

The 'THX' was cut at 1"... so so easy!  I tied cute little green & white polka dot bows, added a few dots with my trusty white signo pen and viola!  A nice little thank you note is done!

Photobucket

I have discovered that everything I make does not have to be some sort of 'Michaelangelo' creation.  Sometimes, simple is best.  And when you just want to say THANKS to someone you love... it's the 'note' inside that counts!

Take care everyone!!  I wish a HAPPY THANKSGIVING for EVERYONE!!  My sister, mom and my BFFs are all scheming and planning our BLACK FRIDAY shopping... I will be sure to update my FACEBOOK of our progress and Robyn & Karlee will be doing the same in Oklahoma!

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!!

Winners Winners Winners!!

Hello Everyone!!

(1)  4 Pack of Cricut Vinyl

Wow!  So many guesses on how many "Cricut" cartridges are in the Provocraft library!  This really was not intended to be a trick question, but I was looking for the number of CRICUT cartridges and was not counting the IMAGINE cartridges in that number because those cartridges cannot be used in the Cricut machines.  Sorry!  So, my winner is:

Cricut Lite INSPIRED HEART: Three Wisemen Christmas Card

Photobucket

Hello Everyone!!  The masses have been begging for a religious content cartridge for some time now... well, here ya go.  Cricut Lite INSPIRED HEART has quite a variety of images.  I hope this is not the one and only religious cartridge they come out with, because I would love one that just had a whole row of gorgeous crosses on it.  In the meantime, this one has some very nice artwork.  I could really see this cartridge being used for church bulletin boards and signage.  INSPIRED HEART also had 50 welded words, such as Baptism, God's Word, He Is Risen, etc.

Photobucket

I chose the THREE WISEMEN image for a Christmas card.  My black card is 5"x7" and I matted the image four times.  My only embellishment is the silver thread stitching and a simple white satin bow.

Cricut Lite FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS Cartridge: Puppy Love Treat Box

Photobucket

Hello Everyone!

Are you a 'dog lover' or 'cat lover'?  Maybe you are more into birds, fish or reptiles?  Well, the Cricut Lite FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS cartridge has it all for the PET LOVER!  Not sure I agree with the title "Four-legged", because there are several two-legged or no-legged (lol) pets too!

Photobucket

My project is actually an acrylic box that I recycled... my son's new bluetooth came in it.  My whole family saves the clear acrylic packaging for me because I love to cut it in my cricut and use it for all sorts of things like windows and tags, etc.  But, this box didn't need cutting up because I knew it would be great repurposed as a crafty gift!

SUPPLIES

Paper scraps
Ribbon
Pink Ink pad
Brown ink pad

White Ribbon
Doggy Treats

My stamped sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's MORE-PUNNYLICIOUS stamp set!

It is a perfect set for this cartridge because of all the fun sentiments!  SURPRISE!!  Robyn has graciously given me a set to GIVE AWAY this weekend!  Only comments on THIS post will be eligible though.  Please make sure you are a follower (my only rule!) and it would be so nice if you would go tell Robyn (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) THANKS!

Not only was the box recycled, but all my cardstock for this project is from my 'scrap drawers'.  I love to recycle and my storage system (see here) for my scraps works really really well for me and is simple to set up.  The only supplies purchased for this project was the ribbon and dog treats!

Photobucket

I can't remember where this poodle paper came from, but it is a perfect match to the poodle image on this cartridge!!  Isn't that so cool!

Photobucket

And of course, that is my favorite Martha Stewart punch.  I am actually on my second one, because I wore the first one out.  I'm so thankful that my Cricut cartridges will never wear out.... as long as I take care of them, they are forever and ever!!  Think about that next time you complain about spending $20-$50 dollars on a cartridge, but don't blink an eye about buying a $24 punch set.  I have over 200 cricut cartridges (yes, I'm obsessed), but I know that they have all already paid for themselves because I share them at my crop groups and retreats.

Cricut Lite TWINKLE TOES: All That Jazz Scrapbook Layout

Photobucket

Hello Everyone!

I love all papercrafting and love using my cricut for so many different things... but the foundation of my hobby is scrapbooking.  I've been doing it for 14 years and love it.  I get really excited when I see an image on a cartridge that reminds me of photos or an event that I want to scrapbook.  TWINKLE TOES has many great images, but the word art, "All That Jazz" stood out for me because I had just the event to crop with it!  At first glance of the sample sheet below, you might even miss it... last image in the fifth row.  Check out the tap shoes in the second row too... those two images were all I needed for the first page of my layout.

My husband and I started having 'date nights' with our children years ago.  It was our way to have specific one-on-one quality time with each of them and also to teach them proper ettiquette and manners for when they grew up and started dating for real.  We gave them a budget and they planned the evening, remembering that it wasn't always about what they wanted to do, but to be considerate of their date.  My youngest son loved dates that included the arts, especially theater, and I loved it too.

One of our dates was spent in the college town of Denton, Texas, at the musical CHICAGO.  It was a great production and was even more so because one of Matt's friends and fellow thespian, Michael, was performing in the musical.  I kept the playbill to use on my scrapbook page below.  The 'All That Jazz' song from CHICAGO is my son's all time favorite Broadway song, which is why it is perfect for this page.

Photobucket

'ALL THAT JAZZ' was cut at 4".  I used black stickles to 'jazz' it up a bit.

Photobucket

'TAP SHOES' were cut at 3".  Blinged the bows with clear stickles.

Photobucket

The second page of the layout has photos of Michael practicing his lines and pages from the playbill with his name and bio listed.  The herringbone image is cut from TWINKLE TOES too.  It is the base layer of the 'Dance Recital' wordart.  I cut it out at 6.25" and then cut it in half.

Cricut Lite JOLLY HOLIDAYS: Holiday Cookie Box

Photobucket

Hello Everyone!

The new Cricut Lite JOLLY HOLIDAYS is definitely my favorite of all of this month's cartridges!  Maybe because it is finally getting cold here in Texas and all the stores are putting up their Christmas decorations... so, I'm starting to get that warm feeling that means Christmas is getting closer!  It's my favorite holiday of the year!  Doesn't have anything to do with presents either... the only thing on my Christmas list this year is that my whole family get to be under the same roof for Christmas Eve!  Looks like it just might happen too!  My son-in-law is being transferred to El Paso, so he is bringing my daughter and their 3 dogs home for Christmas!  My Army son is actually finishing up his enlistment and if his terminal leave is approved, he too will be home for Christmas (fingers & toes are crossed!)!

So, with everyone coming home for Christmas this year, my house is going to be busy!  I love Christmas because I love all the traditions that go along with it!  One of our traditions is baking cookies to give to the mailman, our vet, doctor, teachers and others who we appreciate.  It's a family activity, sometimes we buy containers to put the cookies in and sometimes we make them. This year, we are making them and we are using this cartridge to do it!

I love decorating gable boxes and they make the cutest containers for all sorts of homemade goodies!  Here is one of the gable boxes that I decorated for cookies last year...

Used HELLO KITTY GREETINGS & HELLO KITTY FONT to decorate this box.

I haven't picked out this year's cookie recipe yet, but last
year's cookies were these yummy Chocolate Cherry Cookies:

CHOCOLATE CHERRY COOKIESIngredients:1 cup butter
2 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cup white sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries

Directions:1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

2. Beat butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Add dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
3. Roll into 1-inch balls about the size of a walnut (larger if desired). Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Drain cherries and reserve juice. Press center of each ball with thumb. Place a cherry in indentation.
5. In a saucepan, heat condensed milk and chocolate chips until chips are melted. Stir in 4 teaspoons of cherry juice. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of mixture over each cherry and spread to cover cherry. (More cherry juice may be added to keep frosting of spreading consistency.)
6. Bake for 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen cookies
