CHA Chicago Trip: DAY 2
Hello Everyone!
Wow! We made it to Chicago! What a fun day we had!
We've already eaten several and they are so moist and delicious! Diana was kind enough to recommend which scrapbook stores to go to (thanks Diana!)
Wow! We made it to Chicago! What a fun day we had!
We started out our day by going to two scrapbook stores in St Louis... the Scrapbook Factory and the For Keepsakes. Both of them were great stores! The Scrapbook Factory had tons of stuff! They had a sale on punches and American Craft brads...buy one get one free.
Ginny was super nice and very helpful! She even agreed to take a picture with me!
But the For Keepsake store had the best thing yet... a blog follower named Diana who brought homemade chocolate mint cookies! Yum! Diana had said something about cookies on a friend's (Hi Okie!) face book page and she offer to bake some for us! She also recommended the scrapbook stores we went to.
Well, tomorrow is the first day of the CHA, so I am headed off to bed now! I've got tons more to share with you and will be blogging tomorrow as much as I can! Take care everyone!

CHA Chicago Trip: Day One
Hello Everyone!
Day One (Sunday) of our 2010 CHA Chicago Road Trip was filled with lots of driving, lots of laughing and lots of fun! There are four of us traveling together... hehee... so this luggage belongs to Angela and I...

And this luggage belongs to Connie and Meryl! LOL! Yes... we combined them ALL together and yes... they fit in the Tahoe!

It's not a road trip without a stop at Wally World! LOL!

We stopped for dinner at Cracker Barrel in Springfield... don't ya like our cool glasses! Fun!

Check back tomorrow night! That's when the door prizes start!
Finally, we made it to the hotel in St Louis! It's a nice hotel... brand new, in fact. But Connie has to check the sheets... it's just her 'thing'... lol... so, she had Meryl doing it too!

We are excited to be going to two scrapbook stores here in St Louis today! Scrapbook Factory and For Keepsake! Thanks to Diana for recommending them! Then its off to Chicago! We've got four parties to go to tonight! Promise we will take pictures and video of everything!
Scrappingly yours!

MEOW CRICUT LITE: Have a Tree-mendous Day!
Hello Everyone!
Just a quick card from the MEOW CRICUT LITE Cartridge! This was for a My Pink Stamper challenge a couple of weeks ago. I never got the chance to post it, but wanted to share it with you.

The challenge here was to use orange, green, brown and pink all together.

Hence... the reason for an orange background. I would have normally used blue, but I like how this forced me to step outside the box and use a different color.

I used one of Robyn's (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) adorable stamps. Perfect for my card.

There's my 'touch' of pink!

Traveling to Tennessee today! Will be in Memphis for the rest of the week! Hoping to stop by the Eclectica Store in Cordova!

ROCK PRINCESS: Hair Accessories
Hello Everyone!!
Now I have a cute, but simple little project that is going to melt your heart! My daughter, Sam and her sister-in-law, Nicole have been hanging out with me in my studio this week. They absolutely LOVE the new ROCK PRINCESS and have decided to make a bunch of hair accessories for our little yorkie, Lexie.
WARNING: Do not scroll down and look if you are not planning on running out to buy the ROCK PRINCESS cartridge as soon as it is available!
Tada!...

Yep... that is the girly skull cut at 1" from ROCK PRINCESS!

We have discovered that you should cut 3 of the black shadows and glue them all together to give it stability. Use a small piece of ribbon to glue the skull to a small black hair band. Add the white skull and pink ribbon, then seal the top with glossy accents!

Now our little Lexie girl is styling 'Punk Rock Style'! LOL! I've got more to share with you and will be back later!!

COUNTRY LIFE: Cow's It Going Card
Hello Everyone!
The COUNTRY LIFE Cricut Cartridge is my #3 favorite cartridge of the 5 new cartridges for this month. It has the cute images, some that are advanced layered and some that are simple layered and it has two different kinds of fonts. The first font called Country Life, reminds me alot of the Storybook font, but sadly does not have a shadow or layers for it. But the second font makes up for it by being a banner/pennant font, and yes, there is a shadow. Banners/pennants are definitely the big trend this year and this font will be very popular. There is also a banner feature that allows you to cut banners with the images cut out of the center.

This cute farmgirl milking the cow has 4 layers (white, black, pink & navy) that were all cut at 4". There was also a shadow feature that I opted to not use because I liked it the way it looked without. This cartridge does not layer like the Creative-A-Critter cartridge does, but the layering was not difficult.

I thought of Robyn's stamps (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) again when making this card (can't help it, they are my favorites!). I love how they are small enough to fit anywhere and the sentiments are perfect for so many of the cricut cartridges!

See... how cute is that!? This set is called "MORE PUNNY-LICIOUS".

Added a little ribbon and some flowers for accent.

Tada! All done! I love how it turned out too!

Don't forget that I am giving away Martha Stewart's new Cricut Cake Cartridges! Click HERE for more information on the cartridges and how you can win!

ROCK PRINCESS: U Rock Card
Hello Again Everyone!
Here is my #2 favorite of the 5 new cartridges announced today! The ROCK PRINCESS Cricut Cartridge has some great images for both teenagers and adults! One of my favorite features of this cartridge though is that it has TWO cute fonts! You'll see them in my card below.

I love all the possibilities with this cartridge. The images are cute and funky (sry... dating myself), some are very detailed with advanced layering and some are just sweet and simple. I chose the diamond rock with crossbones behind it for a 'hip' (hehee... more outdated terminology) Thank You card.

It was cut at 3" and I used white, pink and black Gemstones cardstock from Core'dinations.

That is simple inexpensive black tulle tied into a knot on the front of the card. I'm really into tulle lately, so you will be seeing alot of it!

Now, for those two fonts I was telling you about! Check out the Skull with the letter 'U' cut out of it! They offer the whole alphabet and numbers in a girl skull with a bow (non-shift) and a boy skull with buck teeth (shift). I paired it with the 'Heart Font' and cut the word 'ROCK' at 1.5".

Added some dots with my white signo pen to the skull and some rhinestones to bling it all up. I can't wait to link this cartridge to my gypsy, because this font is going to be fun to weld!

SIMPLY CHARMED: Thank You Berry Much Card
Hello Everyone!
I have to tell you that I LOVE all five cartridges that were announced today, but the SIMPLY CHARMED Cricut Cartridge is my #1 favorite of them!

I made a fun Thank You card to send to a very good friend of mine.

The ribbon inspired the colors I chose and was backed with black and gingham paper.

But the bowl of strawberries is so CUTE! Everything was cut at 3" and I used Core'dinations cardstock to make it.

I wanted a little sentiment stamp for the front, so I used one of Robyn's (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) Fruit & Veggie Pun stamps. These stamps work so well with many cricut cartridges!

I used the 'THANK YOU BERRY MUCH' stamp.

A smiley face strawberry is hiding inside with my note to 'say hello'.

This card is a 5.5"x4.25" (which is a standard 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock folded in half). I've decided that I personally like this size much better than trying to fit everything on a A2 size card. I enjoy my cricut cuts much better and want them to stand out on the cards I make! Walmart sells the envelopes that fit this size in the office supply section, so that makes it even easier.
