CELEBRATE WITH FLOURISH Cricut Lite: #1 Dad Card

Hello Everyone!

Here is another Cricut Lite cartridge that is in my TOP 5 favorites!  Sorry... but there will be some MAJOR enabling going on in this post!  This is from the CELEBRATE WITH FLOURISH Cricut Lite cartridge.  This cartridge is a great 'companion' cartridge to the newly released WALL DECOR & MORE.

While the WALL DECOR & MORE was designed mostly for wall art, it still makes some awesome cards because of the 50+ phrases that it has!  I cut all the phrases last month and featured them HERE.  But, CELEBRATE WITH FLOURISH is perfect for cards!!  This cartridge covers New Years, Valentines, St Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and every mom's favorite holiday... BACK TO SCHOOL!! LOL!

With Father's Day right around the corner... I just couldn't resist making yet another Father's Day card! 



I really liked the card I made with the BILLIONAIRE Cricut Lite (see it HERE)... but I have to say that this one is my favorite!  I cut the #1 DAD phrase out at 4", this cut has 4 awesome layers that makes it all those colors!  To give it some dimension, I pop-dotted the brown circle layer.



...the shadow was cut in blue
...the entire phrase was cut in red
... # and D were cut in green
...the circle and D were cut in brown

Everything layered so nicely!


I'm really into a button and sewing phase (can you tell?)!  Many of you were asking what kind of sewing machine I use... just a basic SINGER that does straight stitch and a zigzag!  I used a straight stitch around the outside border of this card and hand sewn the buttons on.



Then I zigzaged (is that a word?) down each side of my red cardstock.  The argyle cardstock is from FANCY PANTS and came with a matching rub-on, which I put down the middle of my red cardstock in lieu of using ribbon.



Voila!  A really cool, really colorful Father's Day card!  EASY PEASY!
