A peek at the NEW CRICUT CAKE machine at CHA!

Hi everyone!

Here is a quick video I shot at the Provocraft booth yesterday of the new CRICUT CAKE machine! Inquiring minds wanted to know what the differences were between it and the cricut expression....

...sorry for the lack of editing... limited tools & limited time when hundreds away from my studio!

I will bring you more later tonight!

Scrappingly yours,

Tammy

that's really cool! Now I know it says it's made specifically for food, but if a person was looking for a cricut (to use with paper) I wonder if this one would cut through the thick stuff like mat board, since the blade is a little longer & tougher....now if I were to use it for things like that, I wouldn't use it for food too....I think that would be crazy b/c it would cross contaminate!......Just some food for thought!

I don't do cakes, so I don't think this is a must have for me. Thank you so much for giving us the scoop. Get some rest and have a blast!

Oh my goodnes!!! Were they actually cutting fondant with it. I went to CHA in the summer last year before I was into all this paper crafting stuff. I wish I had known then what to look at.

Food for thought!

I'm not a baker, so unless I win the lottery, it's probably not in my future. But I love the color (I have a red and white kitchen, at least I will when I'm done painting lol) and the food safety factor.

Thanks for the video and information. Your video has more information about this machine, what it does, and what it is for than anything else I have found about it online.

Thanks for sharing this video. I was wondering what the differences between the Cake and my Expressions were.

great video, I couldnt get the vid on cricut site to load.... I use my expression to do gumpaste cutting, washed the tacky off a mat that is just for cake stuff, and have a blade just for it... also really easy to clean the machine form any gumpaste or paper dust in there before hand. i also bought a computer keybourd mat to cover the buttons on the cricut (all before the cricut cake was even announced...lol) anyways i may buy this machine, but prolly would just buy the cake mats and cake blade.. and prolly cake cartriges!!! its awesoem to be able to do this!
