Eight Maids a Milking.... Using the SONGBIRD frames

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Today was my turn to post over on the CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE blog! We have been counting down the 12 Days of Christmas and today was EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING!

I started with this...

and recycled it into this...

So, I found this adorable little 12 Days of Christmas stamp set by PENNY BLACK in San Antonio last weekend which was perfect for my homemade coffee creamers. Of course, I couldn't resist using the new SONGBIRD cricut cartridge for my label frames.

There are a total of 3 sets of 2 different style frames on SONGBIRD. Now these frames are awesome, especially since they are designed to nestle on top of each other, but there are many frames throughout the library of cricut cartridges. This might not convince me to purchase this cartridge.... but the best project I have seen with SONGBIRD yet is Melanie's thank you card (click HERE) and if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will! Melanie also made the most adorable teacher gift with the new ELMOS PARTY... go to HERE to see it!

You can see more pictures AND get the recipes for the coffee creamers over at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog... click HERE.

While your hopping blogs, you should also check out Joy's blog too (HERE) because she has been busy photographing handbooks for several of the new cartridges... plus we all have BLOG CANDY that you will want to have a chance to win!

TIE THE KNOT: Monogramed Notecards

Happy Friday Everyone!! I just have to show you one more cut from the newly announced TIE THE KNOT cricut cartridge before moving onto the other 7 new cartridges. This cartridge offers so many great images and while will be the BEST cartridge for weddings/anniversaries/Valentines... the monogram feature will make this cartridge a 'must-have' for everyone's cartridge library!

I made 6 notecards to go into a gift basket for my nephew's teacher. They are a standard A2 size made out of kraft cardstock with matching envelopes.

The TIE THE KNOT cartridge has a beautiful monogram creative feature key and what I love most about it is that there is also a shadow key for all the monograms!  This monogram & shadow were cut at 3.5".  The foundation is also from TIE THE KNOT and was cut using the Tag creative feature key at 5", then dry embossed with the swirls folder on the Cuttlebug.

I can't wait to etch some glass using this monogram!  Wouldn't it be beautiful on a large vase!?  Well, thanks for visiting and don't forget... if you aren't already a subscriber... please subscribe to this blog (in the right column) and leave a comment to be eligible to win the DESIGN STUDIO software that I am giving away this Sunday!  Hop on over to Joy's (HERE) and Melanie's (HERE) blogs to see the previews they have and don't forget that today is FANCY CARD FRIDAY at the CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRICUT (click HERE).

New Cricut Cartridge: TIE THE KNOT

Subscribe to this blog (in the righthand column) and leave a comment here to win your very own copy of DESIGN STUDIO! Will be given away this Sunday on the CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRICUT live USTREAM broadcast!

What can I say!? I LOVE THIS CARTRIDGE!! Of course, it doesn't hurt that my daughter got married last December and I am STILL working on the wedding albums! Their first year anniversary is next week, so I used the new TIE THE KNOT cricut cartridge to decorate my package and add a gift tag. It was so easy!

These were the colors of her wedding and because it was a December wedding, we used alot of snowflakes in the decorations. This snowflake cut from TIE THE KNOT is just perfect for the top of my package. Under the TAG CREATIVE FEATURE KEY, there are 47 different tags like this one (the white part) that all say something or have an image (ex: dove, champagne glasses, etc) cut out of them.

Then there are two foundation layers like the blue one that I cut and attached to the back. The difference between the two is where the hole is... one on the side like pictured and the other has the hole in the center top. Then there is another simple round tag with a loop at the top.

The shift key (still in the TAG FEATURE) gives you another style tag that is square and can be folded to make a gift tag like this...

This was cut at 5" and folded in half. If you were to cut it larger it could be a cute card too. There are envelopes included on this cartridge. I explored ONLY one creative feature key today... wait until you see all the rest of stuff just on this one cartridge!! The font is enough reason to add this cart to your library!

You can go HERE to see all the new cartridge releases AND to get updates for both the DESIGN STUDIO and GYPSY!! Woo hoo!

We are HOPPING today!! So hop on over to Joy's blog (HERE) and Melanie's blog (HERE) to see more previews of the new cartridges and they have BLOG CANDY!!

ALERT! Some SWEET TREATS cricut cartridges may be defective!

Check your Sweet Treats cartridge immediately as a few have gone out with a defect. Try and cut the cupcakes on pages 25, 26 and 27 (the basic cupcake image). If it shows "CUT UNAVAILABLE", call Provocraft customer service to get a replacement. They will send you a return mail postage form and once you send your in, they will send out a replacement. The layers apparently cut fine.

Some people have returned theirs to a Michaels and have gotten a replacement so you may try that also if you have a problem.

Thank you Joy for passing the word!
